Malawi

Lake Malawi

Difficulty: ★★★☆☆

At the start of the game, Malawi sets up 11 cups in a formation resembling their state (see setup picture), including four water cups (representing Lake Malawi). If the opponent sinks a water cup, they lose the rest of the shots on their turn, and any cups that were already sunk that turn are not removed. Additionally, ‘Lake Malawi’ water cups are not removed if they are sunk. The opposition can re-rack Malawi once, at 6 cups, and Malawi choose one of two re-rack options (see re-rack picture below).

n/a6-cup variation: Instead of 5 cups, Malawi only places the lower 3 of each side (plus the 1 directly below the water cups). Lake Malawi water cups are also reduced to 3. The opposition can re-rack on 4, and again, Malawi choose which location for the cups to be placed in. Essentially, you cut off the top two from each side.
