Setup for Falkland IslandsDifficulty level 3

Defensive rule Contested Territory

One use

Count up all Cup / Opposition cup on the table and split them evenly between the two teams. For an uneven split, you decide where the extra cup goes. Special cups must remain with their respective team. Both teams then set up their cups as far back as possible, following any setup restrictions. For other country abilities, this counts as if a re-rack has occurred.

Available re-racks

  • Rerack 1 for Falkland Islands
  • Rerack 2 for Falkland Islands

Further clarifications and interactions

  • When both teams are setting up cups after Contested Territory has been activated, if the opposition has a re-rack setup then they must try to follow the setup as closely as possible. For example, if the opposition is Sri Lanka and they have 7 cups remaining, they must follow the 7-cup re-rack setup. If they only have 5 cups, they must fill up 5 of the 7 cups in this re-rack setup. These 5 cups must be the 5 locations closest to the back of the table.
  • If the opposition has ‘hidden’ cups (e.g., Somalia’s pirate ship cups, or Cambodia’s minefield), the opposition can re-hide any of the remaining hidden cups.
  • South Africa: Falkland Islands could immediately activate their ability to remove South Africa’s protected corner cups, if they wish.
