Voodoo Origins
Difficulty: ★★★☆☆
When Benin loses a cup, they can announce their ability. On the opposition’s next turn, they must sink at least 1 cup. If the opposition does sink a cup, nothing happens. If they don’t sink a cup, Benin calls upon the Voodoo Gods and one cup is returned to the game. Benin then place it in any position from their initial game setup. This ability can be used three times.
Country | Interactions/technicalities with other countries |
---|---|
n/a | 6-cup variation: Voodoo Origins can only be used two times. |
All | Benin may use their ability to give the opposition a cup, (can be useful to help call a re-rack). |
All | The opposition may sink one of their own cups and this counts towards Benin’s ability (though you’re a coward and you’ve now lost a cup) |
All | If Benin call their ability after their second-last cup is sunk (i.e., Benin have one cup left), and the opposition sink this last cup on their next turn, immediately move to the Redemption phase. The ability is not refunded and no cup is returned, even if Benin win the Redemption. |
Various | Country abilities that remove cups (such as Greece‘s Trojan Horse) do not count towards stopping Benin’s ability. |
